Purchase of this piece enables a $250 donation to the Galapagos Conservancy. In May of 2021, I had the incredible opportunity to explore the Galapagos Islands off the west coast of Ecuador. Arriving on San Cristobal island by zodiac, we hiked up a canyon to Punta Pitt on the eastern-most side. On the north side of the path, a mother blue-footed booby sat with her chick, preening her feathers as her baby asked for food. Unconcerned by the curious human onlookers, this beautiful pair of iconic birds was gracious enough to allow me to photograph them at a distance. The first painting in my Galapagos Collection, this soft pastel piece was created referencing one of those photographs from a truly magical day spent amongst the boobies.
