Portraits of People
Drawing realistic portraits of people is challenging but very rewarding. My goal is to make the portrait more beautiful than the photograph. I work in dry media: charcoal for grayscale and pastel for color. Both are velvety and blend well to achieve the softness of skin, hair and fabric. Precise placement and careful rendering of each detail can mean the difference between a portrait of a person and a portrait of your specific person. I keep beauty and accuracy in mind during the entire process.
