Green Heron in Nicaragua

In 2015 my family went on a trip to Nicaragua. While there, I was able to photograph this green heron perched on a rock in the late afternoon sun. Six years later, I ran across the photo again and decided to create a painting based on it. This composition had a wonderful array of colors that spans the entire spectrum–a perfect subject for soft pastels.
